Govt extends general holidays till May 5
The government has extended the ongoing general holidays till May 5 to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus or COVID-19 in the country.
Sheikh Yousuf Harun, Secretary of the Public Administration ministry, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Wednesday afternoon.
Vehicles of all emergency services will be out of purview of the restrictions.
Earlier on March 23, the government initially declared a 10-day general holiday, effective from March 26 to April 4, later gradually extended it till April 25.
The death toll from the deadly contagious virus has risen to 120 and the number of total infected person stands at 3,772 as of Wednesday.
