41 physicians contract coronavirus in Kishoreganj
A total of 141 people, including 41 doctors, 10 nurses and 42 hospital staff, were infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as of April 17 in Kishoreganj.
More than 400 people's samples were also sent to Dhaka from the district for test between April 17 and April 21. That meant the district's number of coronavirus cases could increase much.
COVID-19 spread to all 13 upazilas of the district, said civil surgeon Dr Md Mojibur Rahman, adding that a 10-year-old child died from the deadly virus.
The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) has announced the district coronavirus hot zone as cases kept surging here.
Bangladesh first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8. Since then the country has been witnessing increase in the infections and deaths.
As of Tuesday, some 3,382 people caught the virus and 110 lost their battle against this, with 87 recovered from.
