2 killed in a clash between chairman candidates

Two people were killed and 13 others injured in a clash between the supporters of two chairman candidates at Kotakol union in Lohagara upazila of Narail on Thursday noon.

Officer-in- charge of Lohagara Police Station Biplob Kumar Shah said supporters of Awami League backed chairman candidate Hemayet Hossain and rival Jahangir Hossain engaged into a bloody clash equipped with lethal weapons, around 2pm, leaving Selim Sheikh, 28, and 14 others critically injured.

Injured were rushed to local hospital where Selim Sheikh and one unidentified man succumbed their injuries.
Additional police were deployed at the area to avoid awkward incidents, added OC.
