Muhith reading out budget proposals

Finance Minister AMA Muhith has started reading out the budget proposals for the 2016-17 fiscal year.

He started reading out the annual financial statement at Jatiya Sangsad at 3.42pm.

The finance minister is unveiling a Tk 3.4 trillion outlay for the next financial year.

This is the country’s 45th budget and the 17th of the Awami League government and the 10th for Muhith.

Muhith is the first finance minister to place the national budget for the eighth time in a row since 2009.

The finance minister will address a post budget press conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium on June 3 at 4pm on Friday.
