16 journalists tested Covid-19 positive so far, says DUJ
Leaders of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) on Friday expressed deep concerns as 16 journalists, including nine in Dhaka alone, were infected with coronavirus.
In a statement, DUJ President Quddus Afrad and General Secretary Sajjad Alam Khan Tapu said journalists along with their family members are getting infected with coronavirus but they continue their professional duties taking the risk of their lives, reports UNB.
They also urged the media owners to clear the arrears, including salaries of March, of journalists.
The journalist leaders also said they will inform the authorities concerned and take the next course of action if salaries for the month of March are not cleared by the 3rd week of April.
