PM sends emergency medicines to Bhutan
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today sent two consignments of emergency medicines for safety of senior citizens of Bhutan to prevent them from COVID-19 pandemic, reports BSS.
The Prime Minister sent these medicines from her Relief and Welfare Fund at the request of the Bhutanese King as a gesture of historic excellent relations with Bhutan, the first country which extended recognition to Bangladesh after its independence in 1971, a foreign ministry press release said here.
The medicines include 10 lakh units of Multi-Vitamin Bextram Gold manufactured by BEXIMCO Pharma and 5 lakh units of Vitamin C Ceevit manufactured by Square Pharma.
The first consignment already left Dhaka by road today and will reach Burimari Border Port in Lalmonirhat this afternoon for onward transportation to Bhutanese capital Thimphu.
The second consignment is likely to reach the border port by Sunday.
Earlier, Bangladesh had sent emergency medical equipment to Bhutan, including hand sanitizers.
