Coronavirus death toll rises to 5 in Bangladesh
The death toll due to the novel coronavirus pandemic has rose to 5 in Bangladesh. No new cases have been detected in the country in the last 24 hours. Two more people have been cured of the disease.
Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Director Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora on Wednesday announced this at a press briefing through online at IEDCR in Mohakhali.
Bangladesh on Tuesday reported its fourth death from coronavirus and identification of six new patients, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 39.
Bangladesh reported the country’s first death from coronavirus on March 18.
The government has already declared general holiday from March 29 to April 2 to stop spread of coronavirus.
The government has decided to shut down public transport from March 26 to April 4 across the country.
The government also shut down all local, mail and commuter train services from Tuesday.
