Public transport shut down from Mar 26 to Apr 4

The government has decided to shut down public transport from March 26 to April 4 across the country to stop spread of coronavirus. 

Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said this in a video massage on Tuesday. The Ministry of Road, Transport and Bridges confirmed this in a statement. 

Truck, covered van and all vehicles of emergency service delivery will be out of the restriction, the statement said. 

However, members of the army have been deployed today in all districts to combat coronavirus or COVID-19. 

The death toll from the coronavirus or COVID-19 has reached 16,558 globally.

A total of 33 coronavirus cases have been detected in Bangladesh. 

On March 8, the IEDCR announced for the first time the detection of three Covid-19 patients in Bangladesh.
