Kurigram journo gets bail in drug case

A district court today granted bail to Kurigram journalist Ariful Islam Rigan in a drug case. 

Additional District Magistrate Mohammad Sujauddaula passed the order upon Tk25,000 bail bond.

Earlier on Friday midnight, a mobile court sentenced Ariful Islam, a district correspondent of online news portal Bangla Tribune and Dhaka tribune to one year in jail and fined him Tk50,000 for possession of liquor and hemp.

Ariful’s wife Mostarima Sardar Nitu claimed that a group of law enforcers entered their home at Charuapara around Friday midnight and took away her husband forcefully. No drugs were found in their home during that time.
