Why stand-release of Pirojpur judge not illegal: HC

The High Court (HC) on Wednesday issued a rule asking authorities concerned to explain as to why the stand-release order of a Pirojpur district and sessions judge should not be declared illegal.

The bench of justices Tariq ul Hakim and Iqbal Kabir issued the the suo moto rule after taking a report published on newspaper about the order into account.

Lawyers Abdul Kayum and Yunus Ali Akand brought the report on not granting bail to MP Awal, and stand-release of judge Mannan to the court's attention.

After taking lawyers' opinion, court set next Wednesday for hearing the rule.
