Molestation: Students seek headmaster's removal

The students of a secondary school in Narail have taken to the street demanding removal of their headteacher following molestation allegation raised against him.

The pupils alleged that the headmaster called female ones in his room on different occasions and touched them inappropriately.

They won't attend class under the headmaster to whom female ones are not safe at all, they said, adding that they seek his removal and punishment.

The students of RBFM Bhabanipur Secondary School under Bhadrabila union in Sadar upazila made the demands at a demonstration procession, and a human chain held in front of the educational institution on Saturday morning.

Local people also echoed the students' words, saying that the headteacher, Md Shariful Islam, committed one after another sexual scandal since he joined the school but managed to cover up the same.

Recently an incident of sexually harassing a 10th grader by him has surfaced. The victim's father made a written complaint to the school's managing committee chief in this connection.

When a teacher is supposed to teach students to be moral, and he himself practices so, instead Shariful's such loathsome acts angered students, guardians and locals verily. They all demand his punishment.
