84 gold bars seized at Shahjalal airport

A man was held by customs officials along with 84 gold bars worth Tk4.50 crore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Acting on a tip-off, the officials caught Abul Hossain, 30, a resident of Comilla, with the gold around 6am, said Tarek Mahmud, assistant director of Customs Intelligence.

Details will be available at a press briefing to be held at 11:30am, he added.
