Minor’s body recovered from city canal

The body of a minor boy, who fell into a canal in the capital’s Basabo area on Sunday afternoon, was recovered on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Asadul, 4.

Ershad Hossen, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters, said that the minor boy went missing after falling into Manda canal around 3:30pm.

Being informed from local people, two units of the fire service rushed to the spot and searched for the boy till midnight.

They resumed their search again in the morning and recovered the body, said the official.

To be noted, another minor boy, who fell into a canal in the capital’s Kadamtoli area on Saturday and since remained missing.
