Road crash kills 2 polling officers

Two polling officers have been killed when a bus crushed a motorcycle carring them in front of the poling centre on Thakurgaon-Panchagarh highway at Munshirhat in Thakurgaon sadar upazila on Saturday.

The injured men are Bimal Chandra, 45, a teacher of Kaleshwar Government Primary School and Firoza Begum, 40, a teacher of Darajgaon Government Primary School.

Officer in-charge of Thakurgaon Police Station Mashier Rahman confirmed the incident.

The teachers met the accident while going to perform their duties at Borogram Government Primary School Centre in Balia union under the 5th phase of UP election.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to sadar hospital morgue for autopsies.
