Abrar murder: Hearing on charge framing Jan 30

A Dhaka court today fixed January 30 for hearing on charge framing against 25 accused in a case filed for murder of BUET student Abrar Fahad.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge K M Imrul Kayes passed the order after taking the charge sheet into cognizance.

Additional Public Prosecutor Taposh Kumar Paul confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

Earlier on November 13 last year, detectives submitted charge sheet in Abrar Fahad murder case accusing 25 people.

A total of 21 people were arrested since the case was lodged.

Abrar Fahad, 21, a second year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department and a resident of Sher-e-Bangla Hall of BUET was mercilessly beaten to death allegedly by some leaders and activists of the university unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at the night of October 6 over a facebook post where he criticized some deals between Bangladesh and India. 

Later, Abrar’s father Barkat Ullah lodged a case with Chawkbazar Police Station against 19 BUET students in this connection.
