RMG workers withdraw Shyamoli road blockade

Workers of a readymade garment factory have withdrawn their blockade from the Shyamoli road in the capital.

The workers of Dynamic Fashion took to the street demanding due salaries and New Year increment around 9:30am on Thursday and withdrew their blockade after getting assurance from a delegation of BGMEA. 

The vehicular movement on the road became normal from around 12:15. 

In this connection, Wahiduzzaman, Additional Deputy Commissioner of DMP (Tejgaon zone), said additional police were deployed in the area after garments workers took to the street. They withdrew their blockade on request and the vehicular movement is normal now.  

A meeting will be held among the workers, owners of the factory and a delegation of BGMEA, he said.
