HC asks to take action against JUST VC
The High Court on Wednesday asked the government to take legal action against Jashore University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor, registrar and others concerned over distortion of photos of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh.
The bench of justices FRM Nazmul Ahsan and KM Kamrul Quader passed the order, disposing the rule issued on hearing of a writ petition.
Earlier JUST VC, registrar, and public relations officer sought unconditional apology over distortion of Bangabandhu's photo in desk calender of 2018 and the same in desk calender in 2019.
After they sought apology, court warned them saying, "Won't be spared if allegations are proved."
Lawyer MK Rahman, who stood for petitioner, said court declared Bangabandhu, and PM's photos distortion illegal.
The court asked Cabinet Secretary to take measures against the trio within a month as per Constitution and law if they are found guilty. Court disposed the roder.
