Abrar murder accused denied bail
A Dhaka court has sent Morshed Amatya Islam, an accused in BUET student Abrar Fahad murder case, to jail after rejecting his bail petition.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yesmin Ara on Sunday passed the order.
Sub Inspector Mazharul Islam, General Registrar Officer of the court, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Earlier, Amatya, who was on hiding after Abrar murder, surrendered before the court and filed a bail petition
On January 5, the same court ordered cops to publish notices in national daily newspaper asking four fugitives to appear in the case before January 13.
On November 13, police submitted a charge sheet against 25 students of BUET, most of them being the leaders and activists of BCL in Abrar murder case.
On November 18, the court accepted the charge sheet, and issued warrants against four fugitives.
Abrar, a second year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of BUET, was beaten to death by some BCL men inside the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of October 7.
Abrar’s father filed a murder case against 19 people at Chawkbazar police station on the day of the murder.
