At the night of December 31, Alauddin brought Nayeem and Ratul at his own office suspecting them of stealing goats. Later, their hands and legs were tied.

In the presence of the member, several people there gave the duo a good thrashing, with 20-30 silent onlookers. They were forcefully admitted of goat theft. Later, critically injured the youths were handed over to Fatulla Model Police Station.

In the viral video, several people were seen mercilessly beating two youths with their hands and legs tied in front of Alauddin Member. During this, the youths yelling 'father, father' in severe pain but hearts of none, including member Alauddin, melted to save them.

Asked Alauddin Member whether a public representative has right of beating anyone, he admitted that beating the youths was unjust.

"Though it was not just to beat them (Nayeem and Ratul) but it happened because we could not control ourselves, "Alauddin said, adding that they beat the youths when they normally did not admit theft of goat.

Nazma Begum, mother of victim Nayeem, burst into tears saying the cruelty happened with her son and sought justice.

She said, "Alauddin Member took my son out of home along with Ratul beating. They were also beaten like dog at his (Alauddin) office."

She went on to say that such mercilessness with her son left her heartbroken.

Fatulla Model Police Station officer in-charge Md Aslam Hossain said goats were recovered from two youths-- Nayeem and Ratul-- following a case was lodged against them on theft charge.

Later, they were sent to jail following a court order in the goat stealing lawsuit.

About beating the accused at Alauddin Member's office before arrest, OC Aslam said none can take law in own hand and it's definitely a crime.

No one, so far, complained to police from the families of the accused about torture. Legal action would be taken after they get complaint.
