Taposh’s parliamentary seat announced vacant

Dhaka-10 parliamentary constituency has been announced vacant as Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh resigned from the parliament to contest in the mayoral election of Dhaka South City Corporation.  

A notice was issued signed by Dr Jafar Ahmed, Senior Secretary of Jatiya Sangsad, on Sunday. 

Gaibandha-3 constituency was also declared vacant as lawmaker Md Younus Ali Sarkar died recently.  

Jatoya Sangsad sent a notice to the Election Commission in this regard. 

Earlier on Sunday, Awami League announced its mayoral candidates for January 30 Dhaka city polls.

The ruling party picked DNCC incumbent Mayor M Atiqul Islam and Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh to run for mayor of Dhaka north and south city corporations respectively.
