Tortured Hosna returns home from KSA

Hosna Akter, who alleged torture by her employer in Saudi Arabia and sought help to save her in a video, finally came back home on Thursday night.

A flight of Saudi Airlines carrying her landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:20pm.

Later, she was taken to her village in Ajmiriganj upazila of Habiganj Expatriates Welfare Desk amid tight security.

Shariful Hasan, chief of Brac Migration Programme, confirmed the matter to Jago News.

Bangladeshi migrant worker Hosna Akter a few days ago sent a video to her husband Shafiullah where she appealed to save her from torture by her employer in the country. The video also went viral on social media.

After receiving the vide, Shafiullah first rushed broker and recruiting agency concerned but they sought Tk 2 lakh to bring back Hosna.

On November 24, he sought assistance from Brac regarding this. Later, the NGO's migration programme facilitated her return in association with the authorities concerned.

Family members said Hosna decided to go to Saudia Arabia being lured by broker Shahin Mia and recruiting agency Arab World Distribution.

Her dream of a better life turned into a nightmare when she experienced unbearable physical and mental torture by her employer in the country.
