125 more Bangladeshis deported from KSA
Some 125 more Bangladeshi nationals have come back home from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, totaling the number of deportees to 2615 in three weeks of November.
A flight of Saudi Airlines carrying them landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:20pm on Friday.
According to the Expatriates' Welfare Desk at the airport and information of Brac, Saudia Arabia has deported as many as 21,000 Bangladeshis from the country last 10 months this year amid a crackdown on undocumented workers there.
Deported workers alleged that they have given money to Kafil (employer) for Akama (legal permission to stay in the country) but he did do so.
They also alleged that they contacted with Kafil after being arrested by police but he did not take any responsibility to free them.
Meanwhile, Brac Migration Programme in association with Expatriate Welfare Desk provided necessary assistance, including food, to the returnees, and measurement to reach them their destinations safely.
Brahmanbaria's Afzal, one of the ill-starred deportees, spent around Tk 4.60 lakh to go to Saudi Arabia two-and-half-month ago but returned empty-handed.
Despite having 'Akama', he had been sent back to home, Afzal added.
Brahmanbaria's Montu Mia and Saidul Islam, Narsingdi's Naim, Habiganj's Faruque Hossain and Dhaka Saiful also experienced the same fate.
