Charge sheet submitted against 25 in Abrar murder case

Detectives have submitted charge sheet in Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) student Abrar Fahad murder case accusing 25 people.

The charge sheet was submitted before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Wednesday afternoon.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) additional commissioner Md Monirul Islam at a press conference came up with the disclosure.

A total of 21 people were arrested since the case was lodged. Among them, 16 are named in statement. 

At the press conference, Monirul said that 11 people directly took part in Abrar murder case. Rest 14 were involved in different stages of the killing.

Abrar Fahad, 21, a second year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department and a resident of Sher-e-Bangla Hall of BUET was mercilessly beaten to death allegedly by some leaders and activists of the university unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at the night of October 6 over a facebook post where he criticized some deals between Bangladesh and India. 

Later, Abrar's father Barkat Ullah lodged a case with Chawkbazar Police Station against 19 BUET students in this connection.
