UD case filed over B’baria train accident

An unnatural death case has been filed over the train accident in Brahmanbaria that left at least 16 people dead and more than 100 injured. 

Jaker Hossain Chowdhury, Mandabagh Railway Station Master, filed the case with Akhaura Railway Police Station on Tuesday night. 

Shaymol Kanti Das, officer-in-charge of Akhaura Railway Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

At least 16 people were killed and more than 100 others injured in a collision between two passenger trains - inter-city ‘Udayan Express’ and ‘Turna Nishitha’ at the crossing of Mandabhag Station on Dhaka-Chattogram Railway in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria around 2:45am on Tuesday.

The locomotive master and the assistant master of ‘Turna Nishitha’ were suspended after the incident.
