Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted mainly dry weather over the country with light rain at the coastal areas in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today, reports BSS.

“The depression over East-central Bay and adjoining area moved west-northwestwards and intensified into a deep depression over the same area at 9am today… It is likely to intensify further and move in a northwesterly direction”, said a met office bulletin issued here.

Light rain is likely to occur at one or two places over the coastal regions of Bangladesh because of the depression, added the bulletin.

Additionally, it said that the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country with nearly unchanged night and day temperature.

As an outlook for the next 72 hours the bulletin predicted the weather may deteriorate at the end period.

The maximum temperature was recorded 33.4 degrees Celsius yesterday at Cox’s Bazar in Chattogram division while minimum temperature recorded today is 16.5 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division.

However, no rainfall was traced in the last 24 hours till 6am today.

The sun sets at 5:17 pm today and rises at 6:08 am tomorrow in the capital.
