Another accused remanded in Abrar killing case
A Dhaka court today placed another accused in a case lodged over beating BUET student Abrar Fahad to death in the wee hours of October 7, on five-day remand, reports BSS.
The accused Mazedur Rahman Mazed was remanded as investigation officer and detective branch inspector Md Wahiduzzaman produced him before court and pleaded to place him on 10-day police remand.
Allowing the plea in part, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nivana Khayer Jessy placed Mazed on five-day remand.
Mazed was arrested from Uttara Sector-14 area this morning.
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) students and the varsity authorities found Abrar, 22, in critical condition from first-floor stairs of Sher-e-Bangla Hall and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead at around 6.30am on October 7.
Abrar’s father filed the case with Chawkbazar Police Station against 19 people.
