Abrar’s roommate detained

Police have detained a roommate of BUET student Abrar Fahad who was beaten to death by BCL activists.  

Mizan, a student of Water Resource and Engineering department of BUET, was picked up by DB police from the room of 1011 of Sher-E-Bangla Hall of the university around 12pm on Thursday.

In this connection, Jago News could not reach Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), over phone.

Earlier in the morning, detectives detained BUET BCL leader Amit Saha from Sabujbagh in the capital in connection with the murder of Abrar Fahad. 

Abrar, 21, a second year student of EEE department and a resident of Sher-e-Bangla Hall of BUET was pronounced dead on Monday after he was mercilessly beaten allegedly by some BCL activists of the university unit.

Later in the day, Abrar’s father filed a case against 19 BCL men with Chawkbazar Police Station.
