Selim Pradhan placed on 4-day remand
A Dhaka court has placed online casino operator Selim Pradhan and his two associates - Aktaruzzaman and Rukon - on a 4-day remand in a case filed under the Narcotics Act.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Moenul Islam granted the remand on Thursday.
Earlier on Wednesday, the investigation officer of the case and also Inspector of Gulshan Police Station Aminul Islam prayed 7-day remand before the court. The court fixed today for hearing on the appeal.
The Rapid Action Battalion in an overnight drive seized both Bangladeshi and foreign currency amounting to Tk 1.05 crore and bottles of liquor from the Banani house and Gulshan office of suspected online casino operator Salim Pradhan following his arrest on Monday afternoon after arresting him from Thailand bound flight.
Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit on Tuesday froze bank accounts of Salim Pradhan for 30 days following the drive.
