GK Shamim’s 7 bodyguards placed on 4-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed Jubo League leader GK Shamim’s seven bodyguards on 4-day remand in a money laundering case filed with Gulshan police station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbeer Yeasir Ahsan Chowdhury on Tuesday passed the order after the investigation officer and CID’s Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Abu Sayeed prayed 10-day remand for them. 

Rabikul Hasan, Sub Inspector and also the General Registration Officer of Gulshan police station confirmed the matter to Jago News.

On September 20, Rapid Action Battalion arrested Shamim, recovered a large amount of money, arms, and drugs from Niketon in Dhaka’s Gulshan area. RAB also detained seven of his bodyguards, and seized their arms. The seven bodyguards are- Md Delwar Hossain, Md Murad Hossain, Md Jahidul Islam, Md Shahidul Islam, Md Kamal Hossain, Md Samsad Hossaim and Md Aminul Islam.

The next day, Shamim was placed on a 10-day remand in cases filed under the Arms Act, and Narcotics Control Act.
