4 members of a family found dead in Cox’s Bazar

Police recovered the throat-slit bodies of four members of a family, including two children, from a house at Purba Ratnapalong village in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Sakhi Barua, 60, wife of Prabin Barua, her daughter-in-law Mila Barua, 23 and grandchildren Rabin Barua, 5 and Sony Barua. 

Abul Mansur, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station, said Sakhi Barua along with her daughter-in-law and two grandchildren used to live at the house as her son stays abroad for job.

Local people spotted the bodies at their house and informed police who recovered the throat-slit bodies.

The bodies were sent to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.

However, Ukhiya Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nikaruzzaman Chowdhury and Additional Superintendent of Police Nihad Adnan Taiyan visited the spot.
