3 militants including a woman arrested from Narayanganj
Police today arrested three alleged militants including a woman while they conducted overnight anti-militant drive in a house at Takkar Math in Fatullah here, reports BSS.
“With the assistance from district police unit, the members of the Counter Terrorism Unit of the Police coming from the capital had begun the drive since 1am on Monday,” said Manirul Islam, additional police super of the district police.
The arrestees identified as Jamal Uddin Rafique, Farid Uddin Rumi, teacher of Ahsanullah University and a state run Agrani Bank employee Jannatul Wara Anu.
The police in a drive arrested them from a three-storey building, own by Jainal Abedin, at Takkar Math area of the upazila.
The police kept surrounding two houses including a tin-shed adjacent to the building, following an interrogation revealed that there is an explosive manufacturing lab at the tin-shed house, according to the official.
Another bomb disposal unit of the police arrived here from the capital had begun to defuse the explosives at the lab.
The arrestees are the relative of the building owner Jainal Abedin, said the locals.
