Shab-e-Barat tonight

Shab-e-Barat, known as the night of blessings and glory will be observed on the night between Sunday and Monday with traditional religious zeal and solemnity.

Muslim devotees would spend the night at mosques and homes offering prayers, reciting from the holy Quran to seek blessings of Almighty Allah.

The Muslims will also visit the graveyards of their relatives and Muslim saints and distribute sweets and homemade foods among the poor, their neighbors, friends and relatives.

On the occasion, Islamic Foundation Bangladesh and other religious and socio-cultural organizations have chalked out various programs, including religious sermons, recitation from Quran, singing hamd-na’t, offering doa and special prayers.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages marking the occasion.
