Fire breaks out at Ashulia cotton factory

A fire broke out at a cotton factory in Savar which is owned by former Water Resources Minister Anwar Hossain Manju. Five fire service units are working to control.

The fire broke out at the factory called Ajiz Cotton Mills in Sripur area of Ashulia in wee hour on Thursday.

Senior Station Officer of DEPZ Fire Service, Jahangir Alam said they reached the spot immediately after the news of a fire at a cotton-producing factory owned by Anwar Hossain Manju in the Sripur area of Ashulia at midnight. During this time, three units of DEPZ Fire Service and two more units of Kaliakair Fire Service in Gazipur tried to control the fire. But because of the intensity of the fire was too high, all the raw materials for the yarn was stored in warehouse were burned. They were working to prevent the fire from spreading.
