Two minor girls violated in Magura, Khulna

Two minor girls have reportedly been violated by neighbours in Magura and Khulna districts on Sunday, reports UNB.

In Magura, a class-V girl was raped by a youth at Chukinagar village of Shalikha upazila.

Torikul Islam, officer-in-charge of Shalikha Police Station, said the neighbour youth -- Sujit Biswas, 26, son of Somen Biswas of the village – took the girl to an empty house and raped her there around 1pm.

Sujit left her when she started screaming loudly.

Later, police arrested him as the victim’s father filed a case with Shalikha Police Station.

Meanwhile in Khulna, a man was held for his alleged rape attempt on a 5-year old girl in Phultala upazila.

The arrestee has been identified as Rafiqul Islam Sheikh, 45, son of Dalil Uddin Sheikh of Garakhola village in the upazila.

Ujjal Dutta, inspector of Phultala Police Station, said Rafiqul called the girl behind the Garakhola Government Primary School by luring her with promises of money. He tried to rape the girl there around 12pm.

After returning home, the victim disclosed the matter to her family members.

Later, police picked up Rafique as her father filed a case with Phultala Police Station in this regard.
