Case filed over cocktail attack on police in Dhaka

A case has been filed over cocktail attack on police at Science Laboratory intersection in Dhaka.

Sub Inspector Jahirul Islam, In-charge of Science Lab intersection police box, filed the case with New Market police station under the Explosive Substances Act early Sunday.

Confirming the matter to Jago News, Atikul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of New Market Police Station, said, the investigation is underway over the incident. 

Monirul Islam, Chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit, will brief over the matter at noon. 

Two police members sustained injuries in the crude bomb blast in front of a police box at Science Laboratory intersection around 9:20pm on Saturday.

The injured - Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shahabuddin and Constable Aminul - were admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. ASI Shahabuddin was escorting LGRD Minister Tazul Islamthrough the area.
