2 youths die of Dengue in Dhaka, Rangpur
Two more people died of dengue in Dhaka and Rangpur districts on Tuesday, UNB reports.
In Dhaka, Md Zisan, 18, son of Billal Hossain of Joydebpur upazila in Gazipur, died of the mosquito-borne diseases at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the morning.
Inspector Baccu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, said Zisan was admitted to the hospital on Monday with dengue fever.
On Tuesday, he died around 7am while undergoing treatment at the medicine department of the hospital.
The body was handed over to his relatives after completion of legal procedure, added Baccu Mia.
In Rangpur, another young man died of dengue at Rangpur Medical College Hospital early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Mahtab Uddin, 24, of Biral upazila in Dinajpur.
Dr Saiduzzaman, associate professor of medicine department of the hospital, said Mahtab was admitted to the hospital on August 18 and had been kept at the intensive care unit for several days.
He was shifted to general ward recently following improvement of his condition. However, he died there around 1 am on Tuesday.
Currently, 34 dengue patients are being treated at the hospital, Dr Saiduzzaman said.
