Bus plunged in to ditch killing 8

Eight passengers were killed when a bus plunged in to ditch breaking the railings of a bridge on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Dhuldi rail-gate area of Sadar upazila in Faridpur on Saturday afternoon.

Another 30 passengers were also injured from the accident which could increase the figures of casualties, the fire and rescue officials have expressed their concern.

The identites of the deceased people could not be known immediately.

Nurul Alam Dulal, Senior Station Officer of Faridpur Fire Service and Civil Defence, confirmed the accidents to Jago News. He said, a Borisha bound bus was coming from Dhaka, hit the railing of a bridge around 2:30pm, killing 5 passengers on the spot and 3 in hospital. The rescue operation was underway till the reporting time.
