Female hundi trader held in Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested a female hundi trader along with 40,400 US dollar and 13 lakh Indian Rupees from Amrakhali area in Benapole on Saturday night.

The arrestee is Suraiya Begum, 50, wife of Shah Alam, a resident of  Uttara area in the capital.

Lt Col Selim Reza, commanding officer of BGB-49 Battalion, said a team led by Nayeb Subedar Md Shahin Mia conducted a drive in a Dhaka-bound bus from Benapole near Amrakhali check post and arrested Suraiya along with the US dollar and Indian Rupees worth Tk 49.94 lakh around 10 pm.

The arrestee was handed over to Benapole port police station.
