Truck collision kills 2 in Rupganj

There were two people including a cop killed in a road accident while another unidentified person was injured in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Police Constable Saymon Islam Durjoy and a gold trader Shipon Chandra Das, son of Nishi Kanta Das from Merul-badda area of Dhaka.

Police Sergeant of Kachpur highway thana, Pankaj Chandra said, a truck was coming from Chattogram and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw which was going to Vulta, were involved in a collision at Kaladi area of the upazila on Gazipur-Madanpur bypass road in the dead hour of the day. The Driver Syedur Rahman Happy and a helper of the truck were detained over the incident and the injured passenger was sent to a nearby hospital.
