Humiliated teacher reinstated, school body sacked

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the management committee of Piyar Sattar Latif High School, which had suspended its headmaster Shyamal Kanti Bhakta, has been dissolved.

Allegation against the headmaster that he demeaned religion was untrue, the minister, who received a primary probe report over the incident last night, said in a press briefing at Mother Language Institute in Segunbagicha in Dhaka on Thursday morning.

The minister said Shyamal can now resume his work as the headmaster.

On Friday, Shyamal was beaten up and forced to do squats holding his ears with both hands in presence of local lawmaker Salim Osman.
