Gaibandha rail connection resumed after 22 days

The rail connection from Gaibandha with other parts of the country has been reopened after 22 days by moving Lalmoni Express through the route on Thursday morning.

It was suspended for all rails connection after floods collapsed the route leaving unable to use as the stones flushed away from the lines.

It’s the big headline for the home-going people who are especially from the Rangpur division as the route is used to travel Dhaka-Rangpur including Gaibandha bound passengers.

Trains movement with the route have been started around 9am in the morning, said Mahbubur Rahman, Station Master of Bonarpara Railway Junction.

He said, the Lalmoni Express arrived at the station around 8:45am comeing from Dhaka and crossed the risky point between Badiakhali and Trimohoni stations with no interruption which was damaged by floods on 17 July. Within the duration of repair, the Lalmoni Express and Rangpur Express were by-passed by Parbotipur Junction in Dinajpur.
