Bangladesh-India home minister level talks today

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan arrived in India on Tuesday evening on a three-day official visit to attend the 7th round of home minister level talks scheduled to be held in New Delhi on Wednesday, reports BSS.

Indian State Minister for Home Affairs G. K Reddy and Bangladesh High Commissioner in New Delhi Syed Muazzem Ali received the minister and his delegation at the airport.

During the official level talks, various issues including border smuggling, cross-border trafficking, counter terrorism, fake currency and capacity building of government officials, are likely to be discussed, officials said.

Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman and his Indian counterpart Amit Shah will hold separate meetings when issues concerning both the countries are likely to be discussed.

This will be the first interaction between the two home ministers after Amit Shah took charge as Indian home minister two months ago.

The 6th Bangladesh-India home minister level meeting was held in July last year in Dhaka when the two countries decided to work in closer cooperation to ensure a crime free border, training of policemen and combating militancy.
