Twelve cities specify 22941 places to sacrifice cattle

There are two thousand nine hundred and forty one places have been specified to slaughter sacrificial cattle in 12 cities across the country on Tuesday ahead of upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest mandatory religious program of Muslim.

Local Government Minister Md Tajul Islam announced this at a meeting at secretariat regarding slaughtering cattle in specified places and remove the rubbishes rapidly earlier in the day. And there were 94 Haats to sell sacrificial cattle in the cities, the minister confirmed.

Tajul Islam said, there are 520 places in Dhaka City Corporation South, 273 in Dhaka City Corporation North, 210 in Rajshahi city, 314 in Chattogram city, 140 in Khulna city, 142 in Barishal city, 34 in Sylhet city, 258 in Narayanganj city, 190 in Cumilla city, 117 in Rangpur city and 487 in Gazipur City Corporation to slaughter sacrificial cattle respectively.

Meanwhile, the prices of fresh leathers were fixed for this session as 45-50 taka per square meter of cow and 18-20 taka per square meter of goat.

To be noted, the holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on 12 August across the country as the moon of Jilhajj Arabic month was sighted.
