Additional IGP’s wife dies of dengue

The wife of Additional Inspector of Police Shahabuddin Koreshi died of dengue fever on Sunday morning.  

Syeda Akter, 54, breathed his last at 11:30am while undergoing treatment at Square Hospitals in the capital.

Assistant Inspector General of Police Sohel Rana confirmed the death to Jago News.

Earlier on July 30, Rupa Akter, 27, wife of constable Md Dulal Hossain, died from a mosquito-borne disease at Shyamali Trauma Centre and Specialized Hospital.

On July 31, Kohinur Begum Neela, 33, Sub Inspector of Special Branch of police died of dengue fever while undergoing treatment at Mohmmadpur City Hospital in Dhaka in the wee hours of Thursday.

She was shifted to Intensive Care Unit of Mohammadpur City Hospital from Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital in a critical condition on July 29.

However, 1649 dengue patients admitted to different government and non-government hospitals across the country including Dhaka in last 24 hours. A total of 18 people died of dengue fever so far, according to the government source.
