4 workers killed as pickup van overturns in Noakhali

At least four construction workers were killed and 15 others injured as a pickup van carrying them overturned at Choumohoni Bazar under Begumganj upazila in Noakhali on Sunday morning. 

Identities of the victims could not be known immediately. 

The injured were admitted to Begumganj Upazila Health Complex and Noakhali General Hospital in a critical contion.

Harunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Begumganj Model Police Station, said: “The pickup van lost control and overturned in the area, leaving one worker dead on the spot around 7 am. 

Three workers died on the way to hospital, said Syed Mohiuddin Abdul Azim, Residential doctor of Noakhali General Hospital.
