Teacher’s humiliation : Fresh 5 members committee formed to probe

A fresh five-member committee was formed to investigate the assault and humiliation of high school headmaster Shyamal Kanti Bhakta for his allegedly offensive comments about religion.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mousumi Habib of Bandar upazila told journalists on Tuesday that ‘the three-member committee that was formed earlier on Monday has been dissolved’.

‘Now a fresh five-member committee, headed by upazila secondary education officer Nurul Amin, has been formed to investigate the incident ‘as the issue is very sensitive’, she said.

The committee has been asked to submit its report in five days.

Meanwhile, Shyamal Kanti, the headmaster of Piyar Sattar School in Narayanganj Bandar upazila has been suspended by school authority on Tuesday.
