The bodies were collected from Fatullah, Araihazar, Bandar and Siddhiganj upazilas of the district and it’s primarily conceived that 3 of them were murdered, local police said in a statement on Tuesday morning.

Police sent the bodies to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.

Police have identified 3 of the bodies as Suruj Mia, 40, son of Ahed Ali (late) from Marwardi area of Araihazar upazila, Mishon Sikdar, 28, son of Sofiudding Tukki Sikdar (late) from Kaitakhali area of Bandar upazila and Shefali Begum, 42, daughter of Abdul Hamid (late) from Lalkhan area of Fatullah upazila.

Another body of a youth from Siddhirganj was not identified immediately.

Suruj Mia was sent to upazila health complex when he was severely injured from a clash in Marwardi village of Araihazar over a land dispute earlier in the day, where he was declared dead by the on-duty doctors, police said.

An operation was underway to hunt the suspected killers and 4 men including Mithu already were detained who allegedly killed Mishon over a previous enmity, he added.
