Uttar Badda woman lynched: Three placed on 4-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed 3 people on 4-day remand who were detained in connection to a woman lynching case who was beaten to death at Uttar Badda area in capital, on Monday.

The suspected men who allegedly lynched Taslima Begum Renu, were produced before Dhaka Metropolitan Court and asked 10-day remand by police earlier in the day.

The arrestees are Md Bacchu Mia, 28, MD Bappi, 21 and MD Shaheen, 31. They allegedly were among the mob who lynched Renu with a rumor of child-lifting on Saturday (20 July, 2019) when she went to a Madrasa and a primary school to have knowledge about admission.

Abdur Razzak, Inspector of Badda police station told Jago News, the suspected men were arrested on Sunday night who were among those people lynched the woman. They were identified with the help of a video footage where the lynching incident was captured by mobile phones, now are placed on 4-day remand.
