Hazrat Shahjalal airport keeps flights uninterrupted: CAAB

Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) today said it has been able to keep flight operations uninterrupted through providing power and water supplies from its own sources as a power outage occurred at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for nearly seven hours, reports BSS. 

The CAAB solved the problem successfully with the help of WASA and DESA in shortest possible time, a CAAB press release said here today.

The CAAB expressed their gratitude to WASA and DESA for restoring the electricity and water supply in fast manner, it added.

The power outage was caused by a drive against illegal connections by the power supply authority had started since early morning and was restored at 3.15pm, sources said.

Flight operations were not affected as the control tower, security scanners, immigration computers and luggage belts were kept functional by generators.
