1 more arrested over Rifat murder

A youth named Sagor was held in connection with the murder of Rifat Sharif on Sunday. 

He is the member of facebook group ‘007’ where the murder was planned, said Police Headquarters’ Assistant Inspector General of Police (Media) Md Sohel Rana. 

With this, police arrested six youths over the murder. 

Sagor passed the written and viva-voce examinations for the post of police constable recently. His medical test was scheduled to hold today. 

According to the Police Headquarters, if a candidate is accused in a criminal case, he or she can’t join police job. 

However, Sagor admitted that he is member of the group but he didn’t present on the spot where Rifat was hacked dead. 

Rifat, 22, a resident of Sadar upazila, was hacked to death by four miscreants in front of the main gate of Barguna College on Wednesday afternoon.

The entire incident was captured in a surveillance camera which showed the miscreants hitting Rifat indiscriminately while his wife was trying to save him.
